1994年バンド結成。デビュー当時は日本語詞が中心だったが、
1999年、1st Album『Lost Summer Daze』（Sony Music Entertainment）以降、英語詞にシフトしサウンドもよりへヴィーに。
MARILYN MANSON、SLIPKNOTとの競演、Los Angelsでのライブなど、幅広く活動。
2002年に2nd Album『IN RESERVOIR』(日本クラウン)をリリース。
同2002年、トランスとロックバンドの融合を目指を『ReSONANCE』名義でAlbum『THEREFORE』(ユニバーサル）リリース。
2007年、過去にレコーディングされた幻のスタジオアルバムと、当時のライブ音源を合わせた2枚組CD『Dust to Dust』をウェーブマスター／エイベックスよりリリース｡
同2007年、vo/gt.の鈴木重幸はソロ名義『ERIMIN 5』を始動。
2013年に11年ぶりの3rd Album『LIGHT』（ウェーブマスター／エイベックス）リリース。
2014年にアメリカのレーベルFluttery RecordsからSplit EPリリース。


THE CREATOR OF is a Japanese postrock band.
Formed in 1994, and released the  debut album “Lost Summer Daze(SONY Music Entertainment)” in 1999.
Garnering immense praise in their music and live performances in Japan and in Los Angeles, they've had gigs with Marilyn Manson and Slipknot.

2nd full album “IN RESERVOIR(Nippon Crown)” was released in 2002.
Also in 2002, the album "THEREFORE(Universal)" was released as 'ReSONANCE', a project led by THE CREATOR OF, for the fusion of trans and rock music, moreover, to see music from the other aspects and different  perspectives.

In 2007, THE CREATOR OF released the 2 CD album “Dust to Dust(WAVEMASTER/avex)” including tracks from live performances and new songs.
The vocalist/guitarist of the band, Shige, started his solo project 'Erimin5' creating ambient and experimental sound.
In 2013, THE CREATOR OF released their 3rd full CD album, live footage DVD and blu-ray,  "Light(WAVEMASTER/avex)"
Split EP from Fluttery Records, in 2014.

Now they are working on their new album, taking themselves higher to keep on performing as
THE CREATOR OF.
